I sponged on white gesso (Golden) and let dry. Then I added Cotton Candy Faber Castell Gelato and used a baby wipe to smooth and blend, let this dry. Next I used Shadow Grey and Watering Can Archival Ink to stamp on asian script. I used Archival Ink because it dries permanent and won't move when other mediums and applied over the top. After that I drew the tree branch on in pencil (this terrified me) and used Chocolate Gelato which I smoothed and blended with a paint brush and water, let dry. I sealed the tree with gel medium (Anna Griffin/Couture Creations Texture Paste Matt Finish) so that I could use and manipulate my Faber Castell Big Brush Pens. I also used gel medium to apply the saying, I covered it front and back so I could manipulate Big Brush Pens. Once the gel medium dried I used Nougat 178 Big Brush Pen to boarder the tree branch and Magenta 133 Big Brush Pen to boarder the saying, as I went I wet my finger with a baby wipe and blended/smoothed the line. Lastly I punched out little flowers and attached them with gel medium. </p><p>This page was easy, enjoyable and relaxing to create. Thanks for visiting my blog. They were perfect for scrapbooking our road trip out west. It was a holiday I did twice as a child, re-tracing my steps again was great, a great part of Queensland with amazing history of the first settlers. Inspired by my friend Jo (<a href="http://madcookcreations.blogspot.com.au/?m=1">MadCook Creates</a>) I did a lot of cutting the dies in multiple papers and piecing them together. I also enjoyed doing pocket pages. <p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8O4MUyHEsSE/WppGb-mgZnI/AAAAAAAAAqM/DFPW1gjnhWgC9KvMvQ4GeTXWqWOZY66TQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvgWYPrkTWQeSxDkMkc-yi0GNgDdCl3yj4o2FEwCcyKEAxU50jLHmkK1ZJSNZps-BqE_ZKp4Sf3oeqfL0rmCoAghSh4NuE7sp5LRxIO70gHW60df1xmHNayebzn1fRfM813IRC-oc2bEdl/" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Iba017ijwko/WppGkMdtiSI/AAAAAAAAAqU/Z10_RF71uuc-CaClNIEUU48Yf35ElKpTwCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BC67PXkGLKA/WppGn2bdDsI/AAAAAAAAAqY/4QdmPzrw89U-hViXsW8GIuCWA9W-34wuACHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eQBIsPyrGnQ/WppGrc3y5lI/AAAAAAAAAqc/qN1goMmHeoQ1ryj5c2z2Ly_BbcTQBqVuQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8HWJaspTltP5wkv7ba-SVyCyHk0WyvvssW8H_fw4lxjiL-IOxx1ShivPFDw2CFs9srnnQaxQYRv9HMEvcXRmSZwts-DJ9l1PmgnXgSv3l0L1N8HnDIPmCRgCxufZt53-rIwELL8t2OukJ/" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOIo1g97vvUR94VWfI5Xz3SaeNS4mGRa5Lxfi2jAZhbRyHnkePQ1_qcRvKdfC7FfiJ8cAaFjRudASnnmGjUYs92BwHZO_8rZ-qi6k2BKPpalD2MWPuq12POD7VGWBCvDj_jX7PB4yKxItx/" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6OgtQbNdsBE/WppG89K_lOI/AAAAAAAAAqo/I6NTXQ2n88UPpifzsz_Qfg0EE-QRkDm0QCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uWjlRFkawkE/WppHAwPkVMI/AAAAAAAAAqw/f9EUTAinlUo87E7W9Xa4luL8-J-ju3EfQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjyza-owL1WN-zyajtulimESBFaWujUwhP4K5ol10I7lEheGk40tF_GL0bPBiD9HiNb-tu6esmR5zuja4P0oP4wdpHmFUrQ5hxf-x5CX5MeioM1aqsCKw4rl7mO0I19y1bRHZW0YjU0nIS/" alt=""><br></p></p>Peghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11391142919979848185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4604532854655970344.post-21469868186892492922018-02-26T19:50:00.004-08:002018-02-26T19:51:59.819-08:00Australiana Retreat Challenge - same kit, four friends, four amazing pages <p>At retreat I created 4 identical challenge packs with the beautiful Australiana range. It's been a long time since I have posted on my blog as I have not found much time to scrapbook over the last few months, but I have slowly been working on this project. I've really enjoyed creating it. There is a mixture of space for her to put 6x4 and 5x7 photos and spots for her to journal special memories from her day. Here is the result. <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QOSa1E3Y0P8/WfVPE5tv48I/AAAAAAAAAf4/mb3KiENdgK0xiLIjGyRxDYU2qv_X_Gy6wCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""> <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B9rCUcn3Ick/WfVPKfQwtnI/AAAAAAAAAf8/Wi_SXwdDp3wwuxdb7zN5JhT1hvj8GEjXACHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-33nudctTIAA/WfVPPSyJa-I/AAAAAAAAAgA/nZx4MhjE3g4xcdOX2QUvWnVRvjFB_KKagCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OP-OGnoe1bk/WfVPUBVWSaI/AAAAAAAAAgE/mASg_NRCnfcBXlBRPFy2eINzAcaRct6WACHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dPD90U_BbAc/WfVPY6IMWTI/AAAAAAAAAgI/4V8XkLwdyrAVxDzybA-QMQ2z0bpWv479gCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--JAIij3l5L4/WfVPdvAe8ZI/AAAAAAAAAgM/_VTWMNkgfgotj_vjDD5sctHbt4eWgPklACHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jVqd-cxDE_M/WfVPiNIs3BI/AAAAAAAAAgQ/9odFv7oAD8shMnEfLQhvi7MAysjxuPYwwCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3VS7adm22C5tPKOrqTCWgXL6Ah1VUmol15piQQhD_y8gfIRGtOtvCOJ-rlmLnvr8j2iVYGeP72YDneZQDuTAil4lqtOkN4R2LayQnDvUGVg-ak-Ua1YQvzsuUzr7VNjBuxWhxw4-VEYv9/" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-iXrJv7Z4Kf4/WfVPr5AUBLI/AAAAAAAAAgc/LN-jXjDO9CojyKJ32EIlY2wpGbufrGTCQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wPfsmveaS-I/WfVPwsBIunI/AAAAAAAAAgg/jXsxmlip1RkQ9YUtPYZ6FX0cy4H2r0kmQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8YtA4jxAV9M/WfVP1AWUrEI/AAAAAAAAAgk/VKQgfruW960s-X-HJWWxqxtcEkTQdNmxQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-4asSja7mwtw/WfVP567B0-I/AAAAAAAAAgo/6YxqjhxUtJoweynpB9GBSjPBrz9MvxQKQCHMYCw/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1GCJTobTEIp7v4GgClPJistAmjue8N4QKA1s_P1D-ir5230_a_IjArqWwVI7CWP3-Lo8XAOT75eXnoVpNNdY_HYXZu0ofLlSs1nP0Hw1uaNbNNMB_oRMFIjXXAlW3tAUuM2HRg3RxWhpw/" alt=""></p><p><p></p></p><p><br></p>Peghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11391142919979848185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4604532854655970344.post-35518979734644453532017-05-26T19:30:00.002-07:002017-05-26T20:45:32.319-07:00Scrapbook Fantasies Autumn Retreat Class <p>These fabulous cards were designed and taught by my good friend Joanna (<a href="http://madcookcreations.blogspot.com.au/?m=1">Mad Cook Creates</a>) at <a href="http://www.scrapbookfantasies.com.au/blog/">Scrapbook Fantasies</a> Autumn Retreat. </p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0t6hyphenhyphenWo3Dp_dYsj_o10GMnMart5axmwvL8j23wbphk1FPJ127ft0cfUdamvT8e0m499q9F1CNaLI0t0Czjx9GEu53SnqHpqdpGWA0fDbvCcyjBch12-_bKwebbccgB_mWKT7YAnGb2yBX/" alt=""><br></p><p><br></p>

I chose a photo of my formal as the colour of my dress went beautifully. I was recently at my mums going through some photos and found this photo of my grandma and I on my formal night that I didn't realised existed, a pleasant surprise. I picked four papers and three <a href="https://blog.lindysgang.com/2017/05/10/layout-inspired-by-the-may-color-challenge/">Lindy's Stamp Gang</a> mists; <a href="http://www.lindysgang.com/sprays/flat-colors/merry-go-round-green/">Merry Go Round Green</a>, <a href="http://www.lindysgang.com/sprays/flat-colors/tilt-a-wheel-teal/">Tilt a Wheel Teal</a> and <a href="http://www.lindysgang.com/products/french-lilac-violet.html">French Lilac Violet</a>. I used a left over plastic packet from die cuts, sprayed the mist and water the rubbed it on my page, this gave a nice smooth water colour effect, then of course some flicking. I also used the mist to colour my title and flowers. Here is the result. </p>

I chose; journal card, the colour yellow, and 3+ patterned paper. I put what I'd learnt in the morning class in action straight away, creating mini embelishments for my page. Wow! The design team really threw us a curve ball here, this was definitely a challenge and out of my comfort zone. I went in with a plan for the background of embossed shapes and then just went crazy with die cutting and finding white embellishments. I'm glad I did it at Super Saturday crop night where I had others to bounce off when it came to putting it together otherwise if I was at home I think I would have thrown it the towel. I got there in the end and here is the result (photo makes some of the flowers look a bit yellow, which they aren't, sorry I couldn't work out how to fix this). </p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JzShsx6PcDg/WQ5VUvwTn2I/AAAAAAAAAbc/cTTY1qN6U0Ms4J14_rlWIKOGytVJwszKQCHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><br></p>

I chose a photo from 2008 of my Great Aunt Rita's 80th birthday. I think it is a beautiful photo her, my mum and my Aunty Julie. Rita never having had kids and my Grandma (her sister, my mum and aunts mum) passing away the year before, so it was lovely that mum and Aunty Julie took her to the Gold Coast to for her birthday. <p></p></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VEaPvcksF5g/WQ5HbLA2JEI/AAAAAAAAAaM/ZZepOldKlPUzt_ytejbrPuooS00SfaH2wCHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><br></p><p>I used a pack from <a href="http://www.scrapbookfantasies.com.au/blog/">Scrapbook Fantasies</a> that I've had for a few years but never used because I loved it so much and was saving it for something special. I'm glad I saved it as in the past I would have used the paper in whole shapes and wouldn't have fussy cut and die cut like I have done now, which I think has done the beautiful paper justice. </p><p>Here are some close ups and explanation about how I met the challenge. </p><p>1. Teal- this pack had the most beautiful teal paper and was just perfect for this challenge. I did lots of fussy cutting of the flowers in the paper. Next I used my new die set of nesting flowers and balling tool to make some feature picies and then my new liquid glitter :) </p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PgdpM371T9M/WQ5IK7ts3mI/AAAAAAAAAaU/l9saH-LLHjc3zrO_njrPyWPiKKgu6u-HACHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p>2. Family- I die cut out this word, it holds meaning for what the photo represents. </p><p>3. Stenciling- I used my Versa Mark ink through my KaiserCraft rose stencil then applied my silver embossing powder and heat set it. I am sooo pleased with the result. </p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-73camfpJu9M/WQ5JRVMvmCI/AAAAAAAAAao/kaXXU-W2cVMY6INr_VdH0O_VXU06uCpbACHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><br></p><p>Here is the mood board if your inspired and would like to enter before the end of the month. </p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic9H5S9FaGKtJV5WKGUxKnv3NOD4ZAgtngqcu3-Soe8ulVtYyUawH7-FoFyj8mamwgn5_NEq3UruXn_7LEJijItQeBEnXXtziOz0fi3QZ8GYXRfG1NRUPkoOVlNFo4xme9MFM7lR-6GOOw/" alt=""><br></p>Peghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11391142919979848185noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4604532854655970344.post-30102083186506212762017-05-03T05:02:00.001-07:002017-05-03T05:02:53.665-07:00May- Scrap the girls- 'Melbourne' <p><a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/2017/05/may-challenge-mother-inspiration.html?m=1">Scrap the girls</a> challenge for May is Motherhood. I chose a moment from my childhood with my Grandma. <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Q40RrBAix0s/WQnA3Ix6ygI/AAAAAAAAAZE/g0I9kB24YVs1Is9ejvXj-_YDyArZyivcQCHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><p></p></p><p>I love Alicia's idea of using a tiled pattern on the background. Beautiful and 3. Hearts. I chose a photo of my dad and I from December which was only 5 months ago but it feels like so much has changed since then. I love my dad so much and it's hard to see him aging. I love this photo of us and was so pleased to scrapbook it. How I met the challenge; since this page was about love using 'hearts' was perfect. I love this photo because we both have 'beautiful' smiles. 'Pink' was perfect for this neutral tones photo and because my dad was never afraid to wear pink ;). I included lots of flowers because my dad designed and built a beautiful 2 achre garden full of flowers, which sadly we are in the process of selling due to needing to move closer to services. When I look at a beautiful flower especially a rose I am always reminded of my amazing dad. I thoroughly loved creating this page and I hope you like it to :) </p>

<p>Thank-you to <a href="http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au/?m=1">123</a> for another great challenge. If you're feeling inspired here is the mood board for this challenge. Happy creating :) </p>

I found a bueautiful photo of her from about 15 years ago and raided my stash for helium blue paper, embelishments and mediums/ink. Here is the page I created. </p>
<p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEmQ2H6JXgyP8yBDUQlMHbR4JKa7hgRh19eZs31o71e448qzzE8HSsIa3V1pG9wXwt7sVxi6crvNzahZGD-BglCttu9xz0HlJGoANT9krqY3s8Gjz0JQSAZzcnRcRQ7Og0h9lcfEMjs1Yo/" alt=""><br></p>
<p>I choose to seal the bottom left part of the page with gel medium then use my Cotten Candy and Metalic Blueberry gelatos to create a focal point. I then used some of the new dies I purchased from <a href="https://scrapbook-fantasies.myshopify.com/">Scrapbook Fantasies Online Store</a> to create embelishments. Finally I raided my stash for helium blue bling and sequins. <a href="https://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au/?m=1">White with 1</a> is always a great creative challenge to only use one colour and leave 80% of the page white space. I love this page and think it compliments the photo of my beautiful mum.

I was inspired by the deep purple and mustard/gold colour in the photos and used this as a basis for my choice of papers. These papers are Kaisercraft 'A Touch of Gold' purchased from <a href="https://scrapbook-fantasies.myshopify.com/">Scrapbook Fantasies Online Store</a>. I enjoyed creating a simple design and am pleased with the result. I hope you like it to :)

It's of a special moment where my brother was helping dad with a wood fire to cook lunch during a family picnic. I can just picture the scene and bet my brother was so pleased at being able to help my dad do the fire. Here is my page...</p><p><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhASPjExm4ZwsDxQn1kgvAYBeOhEqcX2VbD12VVFdny-bBfj1fATxlsiIF0Ox3zY0vuXcVblzlyTkxO5xvDsbLM6igmFQkyVxJfaq4sXOoi6EjAvJq9mMzVsMSBBwHf67LoZXEP13JOH1fj/" alt=""><br></p><p>I choose earthy tones to match the bush setting. I used left over papers from a class, winning! I loved using the hexagons and plant dies to create points of interest. I am pleased with how it turned out and very happy to have scrapped a happy memory of my dad and brother doing something together. </p>Peghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11391142919979848185noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4604532854655970344.post-78505999898470177612017-04-26T05:14:00.001-07:002017-04-26T05:14:55.140-07:00Wednesday night class at Scrapbook Fantasies <p>I always have good intentions of scrapbooking on a weeknight but exhaustion often wins over, except on Wednesday night 'class night'. I love it because you don't have to make major creative decisions and you can relax, socialise and follow someone else's creative vision to create something amazing and leave feeling satisfied. Here is the page I created at <a href="http://www.scrapbookfantasies.com.au/blog/2017/04/24/reveal-this-weeks-classes-15/">Scrapbook Fantasies</a> tonight designed by <a href="http://www.aliciaredshaw.com.au/scrapbooking-class-sunshine-smiles/">Alicia Redshaw</a>. <p></p></p><p><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ixq63j9v96Q/WQCNs9i9_XI/AAAAAAAAAWA/CIjeq5EhvbUYefMXV_-6xwVn2WBOBq5qgCHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""><br></p><p>I love how Alicia teaches us new techniques each week, this week I learnt a new way to apply sprays to the background, I love the result. I also like how Alicia is happy for us to change the colours, change layout or add/leave off embelishments. Here is Alicia's page of her beautiful girls who are very close to my heart. I think this is a stunning page a thoroughly enjoyed doing the class. <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hQcPXE6mSWE/WQCOKtg-5hI/AAAAAAAAAWE/47y9HvdgByccpTckfHQcIHHDYg5TOEaBgCHM/%255BUNSET%255D" alt=""></p><p><br></p>Peghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11391142919979848185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4604532854655970344.post-37223074593723683242017-03-08T02:47:00.002-08:002017-03-10T20:47:40.385-08:00Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Inspiration Challenge- squares- 'Cathedral Cove' This weeks challenge from <a href="http://www.scrapbookfantasies.com.au/blog/">Scrapbook Fantasies</a> is squares. I choose photos of my holiday to NZ with my dad. I love bushwalking and the beach so the photos of walking down to Catherdral Cove are very treasured memories. I used beach papers left over from classes at <a href="http://www.scrapbookfantasies.com.au/blog/">Scrapbook Fantasies</a> retreat in 2015.
