May- Lindy's Stamp Gang Colour Challenge- 'Love'

I loved the colour palate for this challenge. I chose a photo of my formal as the colour of my dress went beautifully. I was recently at my mums going through some photos and found this photo of my grandma and I on my formal night that I didn't realised existed, a pleasant surprise. I picked four papers and three Lindy's Stamp Gang mists; Merry Go Round GreenTilt a Wheel Teal and French Lilac Violet. I used a left over plastic packet from die cuts, sprayed the mist and water the rubbed it on my page, this gave a nice smooth water colour effect, then of course some flicking. I also used the mist to colour my title and flowers. Here is the result.

May- Scrap Our Stash- 'Bon Vogage'

At Scrapbook Fantasies Autumn retreat my friend Joanna (Mad Cook Creates) gave myself and two friends a pack of old papers and challenged me to create a page using only what was in the pack and mist. I have used the paper to complete Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge. I chose; journal card, the colour yellow, and 3+ patterned paper. I put what I'd learnt in the morning class in action straight away, creating mini embelishments for my page. Here is my page featuring a photo of my mum thirty years ago, love the glasses ;)

With the same paper pack Joanne (Mad Cook Creates) myself and our two friends came up with very different pages and I love them all. I absolutely love hanging out and creating with such amazing and talented friends.

Here is Joanne's page. Hope over to her blog Mad Cook Creates to see more of her awesome work.

Scrapbook Fantasies Autumn Retreat Class

Scrapbook Fantasies Saturday Retreat Class was out of the norm, creating mini embelishments to use on pages, cards or gift tags. I was aprehensive at first but by the end I was creating my own designs and enjoying myself. Here are my minis...

Here are Alicia Redshaw's minis...

Scrapbook Fantasies Autumn Retreat Class

Love love love Scrapbook Fantasies Retreat, creative energy, fabulous friends and good food. The ladies started at 9am Friday, I joined them at 4pm when I finished work. Alicia Redshaw's class was absolutely stunning. I used a photo of my grandmas wedding. Here is my page (lots and lots of fussy cutting).

Here are some close ups.

Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Inspiration Challenge #17- 'Christmas'

Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Inspiration Challenge #17 is white only. Wow! The design team really threw us a curve ball here, this was definitely a challenge and out of my comfort zone. I went in with a plan for the background of embossed shapes and then just went crazy with die cutting and finding white embellishments. I'm glad I did it at  Super Saturday crop night where I had others to bounce off when it came to putting it together otherwise if I was at home I think I would have thrown it the towel. I got there in the end and here is the result (photo makes some of the flowers look a bit yellow, which they aren't, sorry I couldn't work out how to fix this).

Here are some close ups.

Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Inspiration Challenge #18- 'Little moments big memories'

Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Inspiration Challenge #18 is circles. I chose photos from my friend Kathryn's baby shower. I framed the page and gave it to her for her 30th birthday.

May- 123- 'Family'

May's 123 challenge is 1.Teal 2.Family 3.Stenciling. I chose a photo from 2008 of my Great Aunt Rita's 80th birthday. I think it is a beautiful photo her, my mum and my Aunty Julie. Rita never having had kids and my Grandma (her sister, my mum and aunts mum) passing away the year before, so it was lovely that mum and Aunty Julie took her to the Gold Coast to for her birthday.

I used a pack from Scrapbook Fantasies that I've had for a few years but never used because I loved it so much and was saving it for something special. I'm glad I saved it as in the past I would have used the paper in whole shapes and wouldn't have fussy cut and die cut like I have done now, which I think has done the beautiful paper justice.

Here are some close ups and explanation about how I met the challenge.

1. Teal- this pack had the most beautiful teal paper and was just perfect for this challenge. I did lots of fussy cutting of the flowers in the paper. Next I used my new die set of nesting flowers and balling tool to make some feature picies and then my new liquid glitter :)

2. Family- I die cut out this word, it holds meaning for what the photo represents.

3. Stenciling- I used my Versa Mark ink through my KaiserCraft rose stencil then applied my silver embossing powder and heat set it. I am sooo pleased with the result.

May- Scrap the girls- 'Melbourne'

Scrap the girls challenge for May is Motherhood. I chose a photo of my amazing mum on one of our wonderful trips to Melbourne. This visit was extra special because we got to visit my Nana. I challenged myself to stick to neutral tones as I often use a lot of colour. Here is what I came up with.

If you want to create a page for this challenge here is the mood board and click here to go to Scrap the Girls challenge page to upload your entry by the end of May.

Wednesday night class at Scrapbook Fantasies- 'Bliss'

Alicia Redshaw at Scrapbook Fantasies designed a beautiful class for this week. I chose a moment from my childhood with my Grandma.

I love Alicia's idea of using a tiled pattern on the background. Alicia used a die cut to create her pattern. As I did class after a long work day I decided not to die cut my tiles, but I embossed them. Here are some close ups.

Here is Alicia's stunning page. I love going to Alicia's classes as I always learn something and get fresh ideas.

May- Scrap the Boys- 'So happy'

Scrap the Boys inspiration for May is 'Mothers Day'. I have chosen a beautiful photo of my mum and brother. This is a photo from the time in our lives when we spent Christmas at Coolangatta, which is why I've chosen the blues, greens, tropical colours and papers. I enjoyed creating the bright border with sprays and flicking paint.

Here are some close ups.
